We made our predictions for the show last night. It’s time for the show.
1. Robbie Lawler vs. Josh Koscheck
Lawler threw a left hand and Koscheck unloaded with a right hand, but Koscheck immediately went for the takedown. Lawler ended up on top and started to throw left hands. Koscheck didn’t react and Herb Dean stopped it. It was probably a punch or two early, but Koscheck reacted too nonchalantly.

It’s been the most hyped show of the year by non-hardcore MMA fans. The UFC is getting press from places that they don’t usually receive press, including CNN’s website. That doesn’t mean it will be the biggest show of the year. And it probably won’t be one of the top 3 biggest money making PPV shows of the year. But because of the story of women’s MMA, or more accurately, Ronda Rousey, people who don’t usually watch the UFC regularly have their eyes open for this one.
The UFC Primetime series was one of the best ones yet, but not at hyping the actual fight. What it did best was humanize Rousey and her challenger Liz Carmouche. You know both of these women better than maybe you know any MMA fighters out there. It was compelling television.
