Carlos Condit says people are already counting him out and that’s a mistake. Cesar Gracie says Nick Diaz has a focused anger and understands that Condit is just in his way and needs to be eliminated.

Condit trains in the high altitude by tiring himself out and then when he’s tired, he starts striking and grappling so his body gets used to performing when tired.

Greg Jackson says Diaz is better off his back than when he’s on the top when it comes to jiu-jitsu. He also tells Condit to fight his fight rather than to worry about what Diaz does when they get on the ground.

Diaz missed three fights into Vegas before making his flight. Both guys hate the media and all the other responsibilities that comes with being in the main event.

Condit wears a suit to the Thursday press conference. Nick Diaz wears a hoody as does Dana White. Diaz hates the questions because he’s moody from his weight cut. Condit hates the questions too and thinks he’s being overlooked. Both guys whined their way to the end of the show.

Bottom Line: The show wasn’t very interesting and there wasn’t much too it. There was no GSP either curiously. They both sort of looked bad at the end considering they were in the main event in a big fight and came off a bit like whiners.

I wonder if we’ll get more than 5 minutes of Nick Diaz this week?

Diaz says he started doing jiu-jitsu when he was about 15 or 16 and that’s when he met his MMA coach. He dropped out of school at the age of 16 to go into MMA full-time.

His Sambo coach said that he has his own drive and you don’t need to tell him to do things like run. Steve Heath, his MMA coach says that Diaz doesn’t have an off switch. He’s always training. He does marathon’s for fun.

Carlos Condit says that if he wasn’t a fighter, he’d be in the military and says that he’s a warrior. He loves shooting guns.

The Condits get together for family meals with 30 or 40 cousins. His dad says that when he gets closer to fight time, you see the happy Carlos less and less in favor of the determined Carlos.

The Diaz brothers are instructors at their gym. Imagine Nick and Nate instructing your kids in MMA. Nate says that Nick is his life coach. It seems like Nick can love his brother like he does because he can trust him.

Georges St. Pierre says he prays every night that Nick Diaz beats Carlos Condit so he can fight him when he’s healthy. GSP says that Diaz isn’t really crazy and that’s a fake crazy. GSP says he’s probably been in more street fights than Nick has.

Diaz says that in order to love fighting, he has to hate it. And he sort of makes sense in this weird circular way.

Bottom Line: They did a fantastic job of building up Nick Diaz vs. Georges St. Pierre and not such a great job building up Diaz vs. Carlos Condit. They’ve done an interesting angle with Diaz. Rather than show off his crazy side, they’re showing off a sensitive, uncertain side of him. He’s almost child-like. Condit comes off as way too regular kind of guy to be in a main event. The problem isn’t if he loses since Diaz is the star. It’s if he wins.

Cesar Gracie says that Nick Diaz wants to close the doors, rather than open the doors to things like the media. He says that the fight starts once you sign the contract and he doesn’t want to make nice with his opponent when he’s been training to fight him the entire time.

Carlos Condit is a first time father and he says that it’s not the easiest to go out and train as hard as you can every day when you know you have responsibilities at home with your family, but it inspires him.

Greg Jackson said that he thinks Carlos got into MMA like others do, because they have a need to do something with their energy. His father said that the mischief and negativity he had as a kid became a sharpness after he started in MMA.

Condit says that Diaz has holes in the game and he makes up for it by being so tough.

Diaz bikes 20 miles, spars for six rounds, and swims laps all in one day and the narrator says the day ends after midnight. Insane. His second grade teacher says that he’s the exact same as he was in the second grade. He doesn’t make eye contact and he speaks deliberately. Diaz says he never fit in anywhere. He said high school was hard times.

Bottom line: While it was nearly all Carlos Condit, the only interesting parts of the show were when Diaz was on screen. It was almost uncomfortable watching him. They started to delve into Condit’s background, which could be interesting, but his key story was that he’s a first time dad and it’s hard to train and be a dad. Ya, not too interesting.

This was the last episode that was broadcasted after Ward beat Froch in November.

One day before the fight, they had footage of Ward feeling out the ring in an empty arena, right out of Rocky.

Ward tells Antonio Tarver that he’s never seen Froch defend himself on the inside. He walks by Froch and gives him a little icy stare while Froch smiles it off. Ward’s wife says that Froch is feeling himself a bit too much.

After the fight, Bernard Hopkins told Ward that his legacy starts from this fight on.

Froch was very earnest in defeat. He told his girlfriend that Ward was just too slick for him. He also said he felt like he didn’t hit him with his left hand at all.

I admit, I’m a sucker for gimmick Pay Per Views. Royal Rumble, old-school Survivor Series, King of the Ring, and the blood-filled Hell in the Cell.

Tonight the WWE brings us Tables, Ladders and Chairs from Baltimore, with a decent-looking card. With four title matches, and a surprisingly John Cena-free card, this even could be a real sleeper.

Let’s go over the card in my predicted order.

1. Dolph Ziggler (champion) defends his United States Championship vs. Zack Ryder
Zack Ryder is at the highest point of his WWE career. He’s a callback to the 90s, with about 3-4 moves of doom, catchphrases the crowd can chant along to, and a finisher that can be hit against most wrestlers, and is looking better and better with each match. He got a chance at this match after John Cena sacrificed his shot at the WWE title. Cena then helped Ryder defeat World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry to give Ryder the title shot.

Ziggler is probably the best all-around “superstar” in the WWE right now, as he’s being allowed to do more with the mic, and always has one of the best matches on the card. He is the next big thing in wrestling, and a future multi-time World Champion. It’s hard to believe he was once “NICKY!” of the Spirt Squad (http://youtu.be/WklKOk4z1HA).

WHO SHOULD WIN: Zack Ryder. Dolph Ziggler’s road to bigger and better things is almost completely paved. He just needs to start taking the next steps. Ryder would make for a good babyface champion, with it still being amazing that his theme music invoked X-Pac heat (read: complete and utter silence from the crowd). Now folks look forward to doing the fist pump with him, shouting the “WOO WOO WOO”, and taking care while spiking their hair.

WHO WILL WIN: Zack Ryder. Please. Same reasons as above. A win for him would do good for both men. Plus there’s a 75% chance John Cena will show up to ensure Ryder wins.

2. Cody Rhodes (champion) defends his Intercontinental Championship vs. Booker T
Booker T makes his in-ring return after almost a full year when he returned to the WWE at the 2011 Royal Rumble. The five time, five time, five time, five time, five time WCW Champion (you know I wouldn’t be able to resist) has been sitting back for most of the year as an old-school commentator, with his new catchphrase being “Oh my goodness!”

He’ll be facing facing the most improved “superstar” of the year in Cody Rhodes, who is looking to bring integrity back to the Intercontinental Championship. Of course he’s been doing that by being in matches against Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan, in which his being the IC Champion has barely been mentioned. There’s a good, a bad, and another bad for Cody in this match. The bad and the bad is whether he wins or loses in this match. If he wins, he defeated a retired wrestler who has barely been in the ring. If he loses, he lost to a retired wrestler. However, just being in a match against Booker T is making people look forward to this match.

WHO SHOULD WIN: Cody Rhodes. He’ll get a good match out of Booker, but if he wants to retain the integrity of the IC Championship he needs to win this match.

WHO WILL WIN: Cody Rhodes. Sure, I’d love to see a good pop from the crowd with Booker winning the match. But he’ll get another good pop by doing his patented Spinaroonie.

3. Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett — Tables Match
Probably the start of this feud, it’s a good thing for Barrett. He got to feud with both John Cena and now Randy Orton in subsequent years. Orton got to choose the stips after winning the Beat the Clock challenge. First man through a table wins this match.

WHO SHOULD WIN: Randy Orton. Don’t look at me like that, I’m just going by the formula. The good guy wins the first PPV match in the feud, and the bad guy wants revenge.

WHO WILL WIN: If it’s a clean win, Randy Orton. If not, Barrett, with Orton getting his revenge setting up another match down the line. In other words, this is looking to be a formulaic match and feud. Prove me wrong, WWE.

4. Mark Henry (champion) defends his World Heavyweight Championship vs. Big Show - Chairs match
Yep, the third Pay Per View in a row in which Henry and Show will fight. As I wrote in my Survivor Series preview — the one that didn’t save and disappeared, but really, I wrote it — we all want to see two big monsters hit each other really, really hard. Don’t start with a hook-up. Charge at each other with your fists flying! I don’t want to see many wrestling holds in this fight. Both men are angry at each other and… okay, okay. We all know Kane is going to show up in this fight. Let’s just get to it.

WHO SHOULD WIN: Mark Henry. This man should carry to World Heavyweight Title up until WrestleMania. Kane should make an appearance in this match, and will probably be Henry’s next opponent, getting revenge for having a statue of his being placed in Henry’s Hall of Pain.

WHO WILL WIN: Mark Henry. I’m a big fan of Big Show, but it’s not the right time. Henry is doing his best to making World Title mean something, instead of it being traded back and forth like it had been throughout the year. Don’t get me started on the WWE Championship… more on that later.

5. MAIN EVENT: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash – Sledgehammer Ladder Match
C’mon now… who doesn’t want to see Kevin Nash try to climb a ladder without pulling his quad? He’s a big, mean man, but there’s a lot of younger fans who don’t know why he’s being put in such a high-up position, other than being a friend of Triple H. There was a video on WWE.com (http://vids.wwe.com/13010/wwecom-exclusive-who-is-kevin-na) entitled “Who is Kevin Nash” that would have been great if played on RAW. Alas, this may be the last time we see Nash for awhile, so drink it up, folks.

Triple H is on his own personal road to WrestleMania, with the mention of his match against Undertaker last week on RAW. He’s going to be moving on from this feud quickly (“OR SO HE THINKS!” – WWE writers) and onto the next big thing. He’s looking for revenge against Nash, and that’s about it. Sorry, I yawned halfway through writing that.

WHO SHOULD WIN: C’mon now. We all know who SHOULD win this match, and then celebrate afterwards for getting past this feud with Kevin Nash. With Nash, he’s a man on borrowed time. Watching him walk is scary, watching him run is horrifying.

WHO WILL WIN: Kevin Nash. Yep, I’m calling it. He’s going to win this match, extending this feud to another month. And I said that with a straight face. Really. Okay, not really. But I’m going out on a limb.

6. LAST MATCH ON CARD: CM Punk (champion) defends the WWE Championship against The Miz (one-time champion this year) and Alberto Del Rio (two-time champion this year) in a Triple Threat Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match

Let me pause this for a second. This year the WWE championship has changed hands 8 times. The Miz started the year as the champion, defending his belt against Cena. Then he lost the belt to Cena, who lost the belt to CM Punk, who then left and took the belt with him. A tournament was held for the now-vacated title, in which Rey Mysterio won. Mysterio lost the title the same night to John Cena, who lost his title when the returning CM Punk beat him at Summerslam to unify the titles. That same night Alberto Del Rio cashed in his Money in the Bank to win the title. John Cena then defeated Del Rio for the title. A month later Del Rio won the title back. A month after that Punk defeated Del Rio at Survivor Series. For more information, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WWE_Champions#Reigns.

That was this year.

Earlier this week, The Miz pinned CM Punk on RAW. He’s still high on the pecking order in the WWE, whereas Del Rio may have slipped a few rungs on the ladder. Neither of these men should win tonight. I put that on my Christmas list. Please Santa, don’t let the title change again. Still, this will be a very fun match with a lot of the hard hitting you’ll find in a TLC match. Just the kind of match I like.

WHO SHOULD WIN: CM Punk. This man should hold the title to… yep, you guessed it, WrestleMania. I’d like to see some championship longevity. Please.

WHO WILL WIN: Somebody other than CM Punk. Hey, if the above Wikipedia article is true, we’re due for another champion, right? Right? Please, I hope not. I’m still picking Punk here as well.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This should be a fun show, which should made even better if there is a hot crowd. I’d be surprised if any of the major championships change. But with there being tables, chairs, ladders, monsters, and possibly aliens (read: Kane’s new Predator mask), I’m going to have a lot of fun watching this.

The episode starts with green screen footage from the day before the tournament was announced, over two years ago. Hey, Jermain!

The show flashes back to the May fight between Arthur Abraham and Andre Ward. At the press conference, Virgil Hunter, Ward’s trainer was picking on Abraham by saying that his promoter didn’t have confidence in him anymore. He stayed on him when Abraham was trying on his gloves, saying that he didn’t hit hard. It was pretty disrespectful.

With the production of the fight, they made Abraham into a pretty compelling character. I actually care more about Abraham now than I did before this tournament started. Arthur is now portrayed as a fighter who doesn’t follow his game plan for whatever reason.

Before Carl Froch’s fight with Glen Johnson, Ward says that he thinks it should be he and Froch in the final because they were there from the start.

And yes, we get to see Carl’s girlfriend for a bit. During the fight, Glen got a lot more of Carl than I remember.

It looks like there will be one last Fight Camp 360 before the Super Six Final previewing the big fight between Andre Ward and Carl Froch.

We’re down to the final actual episode of the Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV. The season finale is this weekend and tonight, we’ll see which other two fighters make it.

Dodson says this fight is different because his opponent (Johnny Bedford) is standing right there watching him. Bedford wants him because he was the mole. Mayhem says that he’ll let the guys choose which assistant coaches they want in their corner and he’ll sit off to the side and just watch.

Dodson says he has a Napoleon complex.

Johnny Bedford vs. John Dodson

It’s 5’10 vs. 5’3. Jeez Dodson, at least say that you’re 5’5.

Pretty close first round. Bedford had some nice counter strikes early on. But Dodson is a problem for him. Whenever he gets in close, he gets punched with a short hook. Both men got takedowns. Bedford looks frustrated.

Bedford rocked him a bit early in the round, but Dodson caught him with a short hook and he went down. Dodson followed up with rapid fire shots on the ground and it was over.

Winner: John Dodson by 2nd round TKO

Bryan Caraway says he’s thrown up before 30 of his 33 fights. Mayhem tries to hype him up a bit. If I had to fight crazy Diego, I’d throw up before the fight too.

On the last night in the house, Mayhem parties with the guys and starts riding his bike while in his underwear. He then jumps into the pool with his bike.

Bryan Caraway vs. Diego Brandao

Diego threw a left hook that put a hole in the door while coming out.

This was one of the poorer stoppages I’ve seen in a while. Diego was all over him and was drilling him with shots on the ground. He took a ton of unnecessary punishment. Caraway had that look on his face that said, “Get me out of here.” Diego is a mini-Mike Tyson.

Winner: Diego Brandao by 1st round TKO

Diego calls out Dennis for talking shit. Dennis looked over to whoever was to his left and said he didn’t say anything. He already looked scared.

Bisping tells Mayhem, “Welcome to the UFC.” Mayhem has already fought in the UFC before buddy.

I’m a little bummed out that we’re nearly done with the season. I believe there are just two episodes left including this one. It’s been a fantastic season. The fights have been good and the back and forth between Mayhem and Bisping has been good as well.

Dustin handed a goody bag to a homeless man on his way to the gym. Dustin fights TJ on this show.

The house had a BBQ and invited Mayhem and his coaches. Dustin was challenged to eat a cockroach for some money. And he decided to take the challenge for 60 bones. Come on Mayhem! Bring out more cash for that.

Mayhem and Bisping are playing air hockey for $10,000 in a best out of five games. Bisping takes the first game 7-1. He takes the second game 7-4. Mayhem takes the third game 7-5 before Bisping wins the entire thing by winning his third game 7-4. He jumped on top of the air hockey table with the money and then fell on his back and hit his head when he tried to get off.

Dustin Pague vs. TJ Dillashaw

Pague was on his back for much of the first round. Dillashaw is able to get off first and his short and quick punches are doing more damage than Pague’s longer strikes. Dillashaw no sold a nasty knee.

Second round was similar, but Pague was able to land shots from the bottom. Still took a bit of a beating. Dillashaw landed some shots and then immediately went for the takedown. Pague can’t get off his back.

Brutal ground fight. Dillashaw was nailing him with hammer fists. Dillashaw was setting up his takedowns with nasty body shots.

Winner: TJ Dillashaw by way of unanimous decision

Two judges scored it 30-26 and one judge scored it 30-27.

Next week are the last two fights until the finale.

Akira is making fun of Caraway because he likes to put gel in his hair. He grabbed some clippers and took a chunk out of his hair. Dick move! If Dana could work the finishes, Caraway would get revenge!

Mayhem was worried that Tiki was going to do something to his car so he rode his bike to the gym. Bisping drifted the hell out of his car into the parking lot. Bisping tried to keep Mayhem’s crew in the locker room by trash talking and then exploded the fire extinguisher on them and brought in some mariachis. I have no idea what this means, but these dudes are acting like it was the greatest prank ever. Mayhem loved the prank, even though it was on him.

Johnny Bedford is pissed because he’s got a fight coming up and had to breath in the chemicals.

Bisping does a drill with Akira to where he’s got to work off his back and he didn’t like it a bit. He just wants to stand and trade.

Marcus pulls a prank on Bisping with Akira and dropped a sweaty jock right in Bisping’s face. Bisping picked Akira up and slammed him and then put Marcus’ jock on his face. Akira said that he and Marcus are now brothers since he just tasted his salty balls. Not sure how that makes them brothers.

Akira is serenading Dennis Bermudez before the fight. This dude is hilarious.

Dennis Bermudez vs. Akira Corassani

Akira started out quickly by tagging him and Bermudez looked a little lost. But he got his composure back after tying him up and pushing him up against the cage. He rung Bermudez again who won’t move his head for the life of him. But he tagged Akira with a straight right as well. Akira knocked him down and Bermudez immediately went for the shot and took him down. He then put a front guillotine on him. It looked like Akira tapped about three times, but he finally tapped.

Winner: Dennis Bermudez by way of 1st round submission

Akira had no idea what happened and started going nuts for a second. No matter what happens, Akira needs to have at least one or two fights in the UFC. The guy is entertaining.

(Yes, I’m behind by two shows. Trying to catch up by this weekend.)

They show Roland’s foot and it looks like a puffy brick. Jason Miller brings in Rafael Cordero in to show the guys some striking technique.

Michael Bisping brings in Tito Ortiz to workout and chat with his team. Marcus Brimage makes a crack about the size of his head. Why don’t you just say he does HGH?

TJ’s teammates are pissed at him for asking for the easier fight since he believes he’s the best 135er. Akira and Diego are going to be a little tough on him in practice, or so they say.

TJ was getting roughed up by both guys and was frustrated. He dropped Akira on his shoulder. He then sparred with Marcus and they both got heated at each other.

Roland got cleared to fight. I hope he doesn’t kick someone in the face with that puss ridden foot.

Mayhem had cement blocks placed around Tiki’s car so that he would have a hard time getting out.

Roland Delorme vs. TJ Dillashaw

Dillashaw had his way with him. He took him down easily. Was able to get his back easily. Transitioned to every position he really wanted to easily. The only thing that kept Delorme in it was his guard. Delorme looked okay standing, but couldn’t stay off his back.

TJ dropped him to the floor with a straight right hand. Delorme looked out, but popped his head up when he hit the mat. I thought he was out again, but he was allowed to continue. TJ did damage from half guard and didn’t seem to want to pass. He started to drop elbows on poor Delorme. He got his back, put in the choke, and the referee stopped it.

Winner: TJ Dillashaw by way of 2nd round submission

The semifinals are set.

135s
TJ Dillashaw vs. Dustin Pague
John Dodson vs. Johnny Bedford

145s
Akira Corassani vs. Dennis Burmudez
Diego Brandao vs. Bryan Caraway
