About Us
Fightgameblog.com first started as Mixed Martial Arts blog. But as I sought out writers, I noticed that there was a great crossover between the MMA fan and the pro wrestling fan. And then I looked at the name fight game, and immediately thought about boxing too. Thus, fightgameblog.com was born as a multi-tiered platform for us bloggers to write about three different sports.

GG was lucky to have been a HBO child growing up. His father made sure to watch all of the big HBO fights and he also was able to watch older fights because of his next door neighbor’s fight collection on VHS. He was well versed in the sweet science at a young age. He turned to pro wrestling in early 1986, catching on during the early Hulkamania years. Though he stayed with it through the years, he has a topsy turvy relationship with pro wrestling, disgusted with what the wrestlers have to go through, but also still amazed at what they can do in the ring. MMA captured his attention in the early 2000s, though he remembers watching an early UFC card in the mid 90s.
Through Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer he became a MMA lurker, reading all about the struggles that UFC had to go through. And then, after watching Tito Ortiz dismantle Ken Shamrock in 2002, he was starting to turn the corner. In 2005, he was hooked and decided that he enjoyed writing about the happenings in the octagon just as much as he liked watching them.
Favorite Wrestlers/Fighters: Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Eddy Guerrero, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Larry Holmes, Alexis Arguello, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Oscar De La Hoya
Alan
Writer
Alan (with El Generico) found his way into wrestling fandom after watching Shawn Michaels throw Marty Jannetty through the mirror on The Barbershop. He was also deathly scared after watching a promo by The Earthquake (RIP John Tenta). Yes, these two things helped hook him.
In 2005, he took interest in MMA after watching UFC 51, which had Tito Ortiz vs. Vitor Belfort in the main event. But it was a match that was second on the card that caught his attention. Evan Tanner defeated David Terrell in the first round in what Alan calls, “an awesome fight that blew me away”. Alan is a big Dragon Gate and Ring of Honor fan, and when it comes to MMA, he enjoys UFC the best.
Favorite Wrestlers/Fighters: Kenta Kobashi, El Generico, Kota Ibushi, KENTA, Alex Shelley, Clay Guida, Brock Lesnar and Georges St. Pierre.
