Follow along with our WrestleMania 33 preshow live coverage.
The WrestleMania preshow is set to be two hours long, followed by a four hours and possibly more for the main show.
Supposedly, the Smackdown Women’s title match has been pushed to the main card, which leaves the preshow with only two matches, which are the Andre The Giant Battle Royal and the cruiserweight title match between Neville and Austin Aries.
But things often change and it wouldn’t surprise me for another match to be added to the preshow.
We’ll be back at 2PM Pacific with live coverage.
The preshow is live, but nothing is yet happening. It’s just a lot of match preview. Shawn Michaels joined Booker T and Rene Young to discuss Triple H and Seth. Lita came on to talk about the women’s matches.
Austin Aries Vs Neville
Some great counters early on. Neville’s the better athlete, but Aries is doing his best to keep up. Aries went to dive underneath the top rope, but Neville kicked him. Neville hit a drop kick from the top rope for a two count. They went to a commercial spot right after, which meant that Neville went to a chin lock for a minute or so.
Aries dumped Neville over the top rope, hit a one-armed sledge hammer off the top rope, and then dove through the ropes with a clothesline. That was a great sequence.
Neville and Aries were on the top rope and Neville teased the superplex. Aries pushed him off the top and he did a backflip onto his feet. Aries then hit a missile drop kick off the top for a two count.
Neville did a sweet bridging German suplex, which was delayed, sort of like how Jeff Cobb does his.
They were fighting on the top rope again and Aries did a Frankensteiner from the top rope. He jumped into it. Then he hit a 450 from the top rope. He went for his Last Chancery submission, but Neville grabbed Aries’ eyeball. Remember that Aries had a damaged orbital bone. He then hit the Red Arrow from the top rope. This was a really good match to start the show.
Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Guys are getting dumped left and right. Goldust is out. One of the Usos is out. They’re trying to set up Big Show and Braun Strowman, but the rest of the guys in the ring split them up. Strowman broke through the pack and dumped Show. Then, nearly the entire ring dumped Strowman. I guess Sami Zayn is winning this one for Mick?
We’re finally down to about ten guys. Zayn kicked Epico off the top rope and he’s eliminated. Tien Bing was just eliminated as well. Ziggler is doing his best Shawn Michaels Royal Rumble impersonation. Mojo Rawley threw out Bo Dallas. Apollo Crews and Dolph Ziggler were tossed. Rawley tossed Ziggler. Harper went out. Sami clotheslined Titus out. Killian Dane tossed out Sami.
It’s Jinder Mahal, Mojo Rawley, and Killian Dane left. Jinder tossed Mojo out and Mojo’s best friend, Rob Gronkowski was in the front row. Jinder took his drink and tossed it at him. Gronk jumped the rail and went into the ring. He then set up Jinder for a football tackle. Rawley tossed out Dane and then Jinder to win the match.
Winner: Mojo Rawley
It looks like there’s going to be one more match with Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin going on last here on the preshow.
Baron Corbin Vs Dean Ambrose
This was a nothing match. Corbin dominated a lot of it. He yelled at Ambrose that he was going to win the belt. Then he went for the End of Days and Ambrose turned it into the Dirty Deeds and won the match. Meh.
Winner: Dean Ambrose
