Via WWE.com

We’ve covered WrestleMania XXX tooth and nail throughout the last few weeks and appreciate everyone who stopped by and checked out the website.

(By the way, if you missed last night’s Hall of Fame ceremony, you definitely need to check out the recap, which has lots of screen caps of the event.)

It’s now time for our WrestleMania XXX live coverage.

A. Real Americans Vs. Curtis Axel and Ryback Vs. Los Matadores Vs. The Usos

This is fatal fourway rules so it’s not first pinfall wins.

First fall: Jack Swagger gave one of the Matadores a facebuster from the top rope and immediately turned it into the ankle lock.

Lots of tagging in and out and there was a spot where Los Matadores both dove on all the guys except Axel who were out of the ring. Then, Axel tried to grab El Torito, but the Matadores saved him and he dove onto Axel with the Matadores holding him and they all collapsed onto the guys outside the ring.

Second fall: Cesaro hit the big uppercut on Ryback and pinned him after the Neutralizer.

Third fall: The Usos hit double super kicks and then a double big splash off the top rope on Cesaro to get the pinfall.

This is probably the best preshow match there’s ever been. Just excellent all the way around.

Swagger was upset at Cesaro and put him in the ankle lock. He stopped after Zeb yelled at him and told him to shake his hand. Instead, Cesaro did the Giant Swing on Swagger.

The main show is up and it’s Hulk Hogan time. He’s confused. He keeps calling it the Silverdome rather than the Superdome. It’s now Stone Cold Steve Austin time.

Austin said he respects Hogan, even though he did ask the crowd if they wanted him to whip Hogan’s ass and they gave him a “Hell yeah!”

And now, it’s time for the Rock.

Rock came out and put over Austin and Hogan for their contributions and said that the three of them would whip everyone’s candy asses. Rock said that without Hogan, there would be no, “Hustle, loyalty, and respect.” He also said there’d be no “Yes movement,” without Austin. They drank beer together and started the show off in quite a reminiscent and amazing fashion.

1. Triple H Vs. Daniel Bryan

Triple H just entered the ring in the gaudiest costume yet.

WrestleMania live coverage

Triple H tried to shake Bryan’s hand and he kicked it.

Just as I said that I hoped that Bryan wouldn’t get too aggressive and hurt himself before the main event, he does a tornado DDT to the floor and a crazy flip dive where he crashed hard. Triple H also chicken winged his arms and gave him a suplex right on the back of his head.

Triple H dominated much of the match and the crowd wouldn’t stop chanting “Yes”. There were some great hope spots with Bryan, but Triple H would then get the upperhand. Bryan hit two drop kicks into the corner and went for a third, but Triple H clotheslined him and he took the Seth Rollins bump.

They traded submissions with Triple H doing the crossface and Bryan with the LaBelle Lock. Bryan hit the kicks and was ready to hit the flying knee from the corner, but Triple H turned it into a spine buster and then the Pedigree. Bryan kicked out at two.

Triple H set up for another Pedigree, but Bryan flipped him over for the pin. Bryan reversed another attempt with a kick, but missed a second. He flipped over on a back suplex attempt then hit the flying knee for the pin.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Stephanie slapped Bryan a few times and Triple H attacked him from the back. They then repeated the segment from Raw where they bashed his shoulder against the post with a chair.

2. New Age Outlaws and Kane Vs. The Shield

The match was short and plunderful. Reigns hit the superman punch on Kane. He speared the NAO together and then did the triple powerbomb on both Outlaws.

They pinned Gunn.

Winner: The Shield

They did a commercial for the new WWE Slam toys with Hacksaw, Slaughter, Dragon, DiBiase, and Ron Simmons.

3. Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Only the Big Show and Sheamus got an entrance. They are definitely in cut-time mode. Cesaro is in the match.

Final four were Del Rio, Sheamus, Big Show, and Cesaro. Del Rio put on the arm bar, Sheamus powered him up and tried to dump him over the top rope. But they both went over. Del Rio had a ton eliminations with his kick. Big Show was ready to dump out, but Cesaro hit the big uppercut and then body slammed Big Show over the top rope.

4. Bray Wyatt Vs. John Cena

Wyatt’s entrance music was played live.

The best moment of the match midway was Cena going for the You Can’t See Me fist drop and Bray getting in crab walk position. Cena freaked out.

There’s a bit of a good vs. evil thing going on with Cena. He wants to do something dastardly like hit Wyatt with the ring steps, but puts them down and is at odds with himself. Bray hit him with a cross body and while Cena was down, he sat down with Cena’s head in his hands. He started singing, “I’ve got the whole world in his hands.”

Cena hit the AA for a two fall. Wyatt hit the Sister Abigail for a two fall and Wyatt is in disbelief. Bray went outside to grab a chair and gave it to Cena to use. Instead, Cena hit Rowan. Bray rolled him up for a two count. Bray went for the Sister Abigail and kissed Cena on the head, but Cena reversed it into the AA and the pinfall.

Winner: John Cena

The match was slow early on, but really good in the psychology. May have been Cena’s best work wit his facials and emotions. Didn’t feel fake like usual. Bray is better than I thought he’d be when I first saw him. Nice big time match, but I’m not sure that Cena needed to win that one considering two babyfaces are probably winning the two final big matches.

They recapped the Hall Of Fame and introduced the Warrior last to his music. Pretty cool moment.

5. Brock Lesner Vs. The Undertaker

Crowd is dead for the slow match thus far. No pin attempts yet.

So far, the Undertaker has hit a choke slam for a two count. Lesnar hit a F-5 for a two count. And Lesnar’s been caught in Hell’s Gates twice. Lesnar put on the Kimura, but Undertaker reversed it like you’d reverse a wrist lock. Brock pulled the Undertaker off the top rope after an attempt at Old School and turned it into a F-5 for a two count.

Taker hit a tombstone for a two count. Brock reversed the tombstone into a F-5 and got the pin. Whoa.

This fan’s reaction says it all. The streak is over.

6. Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational

AJ Lee made Naomi tap out after the Black Widow. She actually used Naomi’s arm to tap out for her as she was hid it behind the referee.

Winner: AJ Lee

Mean Gene, Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff, and Pat Patterson in his referee gear did a skit which ended with Piper and T hugging it out. T gave the line here that everyone wanted to hear when he said, “I pity the fool.”

7. Randy Orton Vs. Batista Vs. Daniel Bryan

Crowd is still deflated from the streak being over.

Lots of one on one stuff like usual triple threat matches. Triple H and Stephanie made their way to ringside. He pulled out the referee and brought in Scott Armstrong, the same referee who screwed Bryan last year. Bryan dove out on all three of them. The crowd is awake now.

Triple H grabbed the sledge hammer, but Bryan knocked it out of his hands. Bryan then blasted him with it that sent him out of the ring. He rolled up Batista but Orton broke up the pin.

Orton and Batista started to double team Bryan. They went to the outside and did a double power bomb RKO on the table. Orton forgot to remove one of the monitors and cut his back.

The stretcher came out and took Bryan away. Orton did the DDT from the bottom rope to the floor on Batista. Bryan got off the gurney and was thrown into the steps. Orton brought him into the ring, but he did the LaBelle Lock on him before Tista broke it up. Then he did the same to Batista. Orton hit Batista with the RKO for a 2.99999 count.

Bryan hit Orton with the knee, but Batista threw Bryan out of the ring and went for the pin, getting another 2.9999 count. Batista hit the Batista bomb on Orton but ate Bryan’s knee. He put him in the LaBelle Lock and Batista finally tapped out.

  1. That was a great Wrestlemania. The only match I didn’t really like was Brock vs Taker but I wasn’t expecting much from it anyways. Even the divas match was fun. Having only 7 matches on the card really helped. It’s amazing how much more excited I am about WWE now than I was last year.

  2. What did you think of Taker’s streak?
