The Raw Rerun – Brock Lesnar Vs. Batista Or No?

Brock Lesnar vs. Batista

It was the post-Royal Rumble Raw and according to Dave Meltzer, the show was being rewritten two hours before the broadcast started. What does that mean? I’m not quite sure because it was a heavy wrestling show and something that was teased all night, didn’t have a conclusion.

Brock Lesnar vs. Batista?

There were two main show long story lines. One of them had to do with Daniel Bryan, which we’ll get to in a bit. And the other had to do with Brock Lesnar and his quest for a title shot.

Randy Orton came out to remind everyone that he was still the champion (though, he’s probably 5th when it comes to most important guys heading into WrestleMania). He was interrupted by Batista who had a little bit more edge to him. There was no way he was being embraced tonight. He reminded Orton that he had a one track mind and his goal was to be the champ again. He said that he didn’t care who he had to go through and included the name Daniel Bryan.

And then, the man’s man came out, Brock Lesnar.

Paul Heyman said that Brock Lesnar wanted one of two things. The first was a title match with Randy Orton. The second option was a match with number one contender Batista. While I never expected either to happen on Raw, the intrigue was there. One thing to note is that Batista looked small and not quite as impressive in the ring next to Lesnar.

Later in the show, Lesnar interrupted the tag title rematch between the New Age Outlaws and the Rhodes brothers. He destroyed both Rhodes boys with F5s and chair shots. Heyman mentioned that the Authority declined both of Lesnar’s options and thus, there would be hell to pay.

Now, I’m glad there’s a slow tease here, but I hope WWE hasn’t booked themselves into a corner. If Lesnar gets a title match, he can’t lose. However, I think what could happen is that Lesnar doesn’t get his way and asks for option three, which is a match to break the streak.

Daniel Bryan is in the Elimination Chamber.

The Authority came out to start the show. They announced that Randy Orton would defend his title in the Elimination Chamber. Bryan came out and Triple H said his match with Wyatt was a “nice, little effort.” Bryan wanted in the chamber match and Triple H signaled for the Shield to come out. They did, but Seth Rollins fell on his ass tripping over the barricade.

They triple teamed Bryan until Sheamus came out and then Cena to even the odds. The six men were placed in a 6-man tag team match with the winning team placed in the chamber match on PPV.

It was another good match and specifically, the crowd was into everything Bryan did and popped huge when Reigns broke out of Cena’s STF. The Wyatts came out and jumped Cena which disqualified the Shield who were very unhappy. Daniel Bryan, John Cena, and Sheamus join Randy Orton in the Elimination Chamber.
