I always knew that this show had a little something for everyone. But I never really realized how perfectly paced and placed all the matches were until hearing your discussion. The weak sharpshooters and lack of headdrops and shooting star presses turned me off of the main event when I was young. But now that I’m older I really appreciate it. Every single moment of the match is intense and full of excitement. Even modern classics like Cena vs Punk do not match the thrill of Austin and the Rock. I love Austin’s selling. He bumped around in a really organic, old school way. My favorite part of the match is when the Rock’s punching him and he keeps bouncing off the ropes and wobbling around until he plops on his ass, awesome. Can’t wait for the next podcast, I just started watching X8 and it’s a lot better than I remembered.

Thanks for listening Matt! What was your favorite match on this show as a kid and did that change after watching it again?

When I was a kid I loved the TLC. Watching it back this time a noticed a lot more of the dead time and set-up. Now my favorite match is definitely Austin vs The Rock.
