The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones Vs. Team Sonnen – Episode 8

The Ultimate Fighter

The wild card is scheduled to be announced on this show. Adam thinks that Bubba deserves the UFC contract more than anyone. The fight tonight is Dylan Andrews (sounds like a FCW name) and Zak Cummings. Zak says that Dylan is the nicest guy in the entire house.

The coaches’ challenge is three competitions all while driving excavators. They have to fill a dumpster with dirt, create a pyramid with tires, and grab a basketball and drop it into one of the tires.

Chael fills his dumpster first and he’s talking trash to Jon, asking him if he knows the competition had started. Chael had trouble with stacking the tires in a pyramid. Jones passed him as he stacked the tires quickly. Jones has the first shot at grabbing the basketball, but he can’t put it in the tire. Sonnen caught up and put the basketball in the tire to win. He wins $10K while his team each wins $1500.

Dylan Andrews vs. Zak Cummings

Andrews was busted open early after getting taken down and pounded with elbows. He swept Cummings and was landing big shots of his own. Chael was telling Cummings to open up his guard and get out of there but to no avail.

Cummings knocked Andrews sideways and backward with a left hand. He came in for the running knee, but Andrews caught him and took him back down. Andrews spent the rest of the round in his half guard laying into him. Cummings had none chance.

Winner: Dylan Andrews by majority decision

One judge had it 19-19.

Dana says he’s going to let the coaches figure out the wildcards. I’m sure that if Jon has his pick, he’s going to pick Bubba. There are four guys eligible and two are on each team.

Jones wants Bubba and Clint to flip a coin. Bubba doesn’t want to do it. Chael says his choice is easy.

Bubba is Bones’ choice. And Kevin Casey is Chael’s choice. Bubba says it’s the fight he always wanted, back to when he was calling Kevin out early on in the season.

They are promoting a wild finish in the wild card fight next week.
