MAJOR changes to the WWE 2010 PPV Schedule including a Price Increase

Published by Big D at 11:35 am under News,Pro Wrestling,WWE

WWE corporate issued a very interesting memo to all cable providers this morning in regard to some major changes in the PPV Schedule.

After catching a lot of flack from fans, stockholders, workers, and even creative team members, WWE has dropped the number of total PPVs now from 14 to 13, now going the traditional one show per month route, with the exception of October which has two shows.

The catch though is that starting with January 2010′s Royal Rumble, all non-Wrestlemania PPV events will now be 44.95 SRP and 49.95 for HD. Wrestlemania will remain 54.95 and 59.95 for HD. This is the first price increase since 2006. In addition, WWE is moving several PPVs around, most notably DROPPING Judgment Day (which we reported here) and Breaking Point after only one show. This is most likely due to the fact that the worldwide buyrate for September’s Breaking Point came in at an embarrassing 169,000 buys. In addition, Extreme Rules and Night of Champions have been moved around.

The current 2010 WWE PPV Schedule looks like this:

January 31 – Royal Rumble @ Atlanta, GA
February 21 – Elimination Chamber (formerly No Way Out) @ St. Louis, MO
March 28 – Wrestlemania XXVI @ Glendale, AZ
April 25 – Backlash @ Baltimore, MD
May 23 – Extreme Rules (formerly in June) @ Oakland, CA
June 20 – The Bash (formerly The Great American Bash) @ TBA
July 18 – TBA (rumored to be the “War Games” themed PPV) @ Kansas City, MO
August 15 – Summerslam @ Los Angeles, CA
September 19 – Night of Champions (formerly in June, then July) @ Chicago, IL
October 3 – Hell In A Cell (formerly No Mercy) @ Dallas, TX
October 24 – Bragging Rights (formerly Cyber Sunday) @ Minneapolis, MN
November 21 – Survivor Series @ Miami, FL
December 19 – TLC: Tables, Ladders, Chairs (formerly Armageddon) @ Houston, TX

Which PPV do you think they should do in Vegas? I wonder if it’s hard to draw because there are so many UFC cards these days.
