Cyber Kong & Yasushi Kanda vs. Naruki Doi & Naoki Tanizaki

First time I’ve ever seen DG in this building. Pretty cool looking and the crowd rules. So anyway, yeah A NAOKI TANIZAKI MATCH~!, let the greatness roll. Kong looked good being all powerhousy and Kanda was good in the general type roll for his team. Naoki sold his ass off and brought the charisma and energy. The hot tag to Doi was awesome as he’s up there with Roderick Strong when it comes to great houses of fire. Real Hazard won after a PINEAPPLE BOMBER, and a newly bald Anthony Dubyah Mori hit the ring to get him some but he was overwhelmed. The save was made by Masato Yoshino of all people, and the crowd went nutrageous.

Pacquiao/Hatton 24/7 – Episode 3

Published by GG under 24/7,Boxing,TV Shows

The show starts with Floyd Sr. throwing a party in his house. Ricky Hatton said that he found a new favorite drink, which he called “the kool-aid”.

Floyd says that Pac comes forward like an amateur.

Ricky says Floyd’s clothes are absolutely ridiculous. Floyd shows off his drawings which inspire some ooos and ahhhs. They are really impressive.

Floyd and Ricky talk about Pacquiao’s style and how he’s trained to throw punches in the same combination.

They talk about Pac’s religious background and Roach tells a story about being a kid in church and how a nun grabbed him and threw him down and then kicked him. He said he never went back.

Roach and Moorer have to kick out members of the Pac posse as the group reaches over fifty. But he keeps the cameras in because Roach wants Hatton to see Pac knocking guys out with body shots.

Hatton thinks there’s going to be a knockout because both guys don’t tip toe around each other. Mayweather says that Pac can be beat going to the body and they’re definitely going to do that.

Roger Mayweather says Ricky Hatton should win because of his size. Floyd says he doesn’t have any ill feelings toward his brother.

Floyd says he’s had a lung disease for about 8 years and it causes him to cough a lot. He says that it’s not the pain, but the agony that bothers him.

Roach says that Pac’s been working really hard this late in the training and he likes when he’s able to give him days off.

Ricky talks about how people thought he was wearing a thong in the first episode when he was just wearing boxer shorts pulled up his crack.

Manny’s mother comes to visit for her first trip to America.

They show Manny going to San Francisco to throw out the first pitch at the Giants game. They gave out Manny bobble heads. Manny threw it to Tim Lincecum and said he threw a ball, but not a strike.

Roach says Hatton has no strengths, Mayweather says Pac has no skills. I’m sure we’re going to find out soon.

Showtime Boxing – Jermain Taylor Vs. Carl Froch

Published by GG under Boxing,Play by Play

On the other fight shown on TV, in a battle of super middleweights, Allan Green knocked out Carlos De Leon Jr. in the second round.

Gus Johnson and Al Bernstein are doing the broadcast.

Jermain Taylor vs. Carl Froch

R1
Both guys jabbed a lot in the first round. Taylor landed a few big right hands and probably the best flurry. Froch throws heavy punches, but Taylor is quicker with his hands. He’s able to throw a short left counter hook and land it.

R2
Froch caught Taylor reaching and lifted him with a left hook. Froch threw a short right that seemed to stun Taylor a bit. They started to throw a little bit in the last fifteen seconds. They probably split the first two rounds.

R3
10-8 round for Taylor. Taylor stunned him with a right and then with a left hook. He threw another counter right which connected on Froch’s jaw and that was probably the best punch of the round. He then knocked him down with a right hand to the forehead. It’s the first time Froch’s ever been knocked down.

R4
It looks like Taylor’s frustrating Froch. Froch is trying to get off, but Taylor’s not letting him. Taylor’s round again.

WWE 2009 Backlash Live Play By Play

Published by GG under PPV,Play by Play,Pro Wrestling,WWE

Backlash is the afterthought PPV this year, as usual. Because Wrestlemania was just three weeks ago, the push for Backlash has been less than stellar. The six-man tag team main event seems a bit lackluster and the stipulations are silly. One can only hope that Dave Batista turns heel here, because things need to be stirred up. John Cena vs. Edge, though we’ve seen it time and time again, should at least be above average.

But I especially want to see Chris Jericho and Ricky Steamboat. I can’t believe I’m watching Ricky Steamboat wrestle again.

We’ll be back here at 5PM Pacific with live play by play.

The ECW title match opens up the show and JR, Jerry Lawler, and Michael Cole are calling the match. I wonder if Josh Matthews has a bloody nose again.

1. Christian vs. Jack Swagger

It was a really good big man little man match, but the big man was bigger, faster, and stronger. Swagger looked awesome. He dominated nearly the entire match and threw Christian around like a rag doll. He even hit the Big Van Vader splash from the top rope. Christian took off the turnbuckle pad and Swagger hit the buckle and then fell into an Unprettier, or whatever they call it these days.

Winner: Christian by pinfall

Swagger looked so good that I think the title change, which was probably the right thing to do before the match, may have been early. I think he could’ve went over here, but you can’t really complain. It was a really good opener.

Christian saw Edge in the back and Edge explained that he’s not a fun guy anymore because of John Cena. He didn’t say anything about Big Show humping his wife.

2. Chris Jericho vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat

Possible WWE 2009 Judgment Day Spoiler

Published by Big D under News,Pro Wrestling,WWE

I received word about the following yesterday, then looked around at all of the major pro wrestling sites and saw that nobody else had this story, so I figure I’d put it up, but with a disclaimer.

WWE is well-known to change their plans a lot lately, especially with leaks getting out constantly, so take this with a grain of salt.

- The scheduled RAW main event for May’s WWE Judgment Day PPV in Chicago is to be a triple threat match for the WWE Title between Randy Orton, Batista, and Triple H. Does this mean that Batista will turn during the Backlash match? Perhaps he will accidentally cost Hunter the belt. Either way, I smell shenanigans. On a side note, there is talk of possibly inserting John Cena in that match and making it a four way. I expect Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash tomorrow night.

- Mr. Kennedy is scheduled to return in May, but I am not sure if it will be prior to the Judgment Day show or after.

- There has been talk for the past month that CM Punk will cash in his title shot at this show since it is in his home town. I have asked around but not received a legitimate answer. One would expect it to happen much like Rob Van Dam did in 2006 at the One Night Stand PPV.
