Stone Cold Steve Austin In The Hall Of Fame

Published by GG at 11:10 am under News,Pro Wrestling,WWE

Part of the reason that I decided that I would make the trip to Houston to go to Wrestlemania 25 is because it was expected that Stone Cold Steve Austin would at the bare minimum be involved in Saturday Night’s Hall Of Fame. There’s also been talk that he’ll have a match on the big show as well. With the way things are going, it would seem that they could use his help. Right now, it seems that John Cena will face off against Randy Orton and if you believe the long term planning rumors, Triple H will face Edge in the second main event. Yep, that means that Jeff Hardy could lose his title in two weeks at the Royal Rumble. Even though I desperately want to see Shawn Michaels face the Undertaker after their great little run in the Royal Rumble two years ago, it doesn’t seem as if they’re going that way unless this story line between JBL and Shawn Michaels runs its course soon.

Where would that leave Austin if he were to have a match? I’d say to put him with Chris Jericho. Since the rumors started that he could be working the big show, I thought two opponents were perfect for him. With Randy Orton probably working with Cena, he won’t be working with Orton. But Jericho is just as good of an opponent or maybe even better. Jericho has stated on so many occasions that he beat Austin and Rock on the same night to win the Undisputed Championship. That sounds like a perfect taunt for Jericho to get Austin back into the ring.

I think that would be Wrestlemania special which is exactly what this show needs. It could shape up to be a great card, but that’s not only what Wrestlemania is about.

(By the way, it sounds like Cowboy Bill Watts will also be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.)
