Roy Jones vs. Joe Calzaghe - Calzaghe Wins A Lopsided Decision
I’m not watching the fight tonight, but Bad Left Hook is covering the fight.
I’ll be back later with a summary of what happened.
I’m back.
The pitter-pats were harder than I thought. I don’t know. He won the fight. He definitely won the fight.
That’s the quote that stands out most (courtesy of ESPN’s AP story) after Joe Calzaghe’s big win over Roy Jones.
Calzaghe came back after a first round knockdown (10-8 round for Jones) and seemingly controlled the rest of the fight.
Calzaghe opened up a cut over Jones’ eye in the 7th round, which caused the left side of Jones’ face to trickle with blood.
The scores were 118-109, all for Calzaghe, in what he’s said is his last fight.
Bernard Hopkins was ringside, hoping to get a big fight with either guy. Though I’m not sure what kind of business Roy Jones and B-Hop would do now.
